Anyone wondering about the sudden appearance of Athena here: I had a plan for an Athena-centric page somewhere between Saraswati’s appearance in “Cease and Desist” and this one. I debated drawing it, but ultimately I decided that keeping things moving was more important. Hopefully it was clear that — considering their last appearance together — with Saraswati on the scene, Athena wouldn’t be far behind.

There were also some one-off pages I wanted to do during the demon invasion, but hitting a certain beat by page 200 was pretty important to me, so I held off on some of them. So here’s the plan: if there’s ever a print collection made of this run, I will draw those pages and add them in to make a bit of a “director’s cut”. Cool?
